I am going to try to summarize everything that has happened. We closed up shop because we had a third kid but we never stopped making. Michael created a couple of other companies (small ones) and is working on that. The kids are healthy and we are keeping busy. We are going to try to revive our site and see what happens.
Is that enough? For those who follow us (which is pretty much 0) we are relaunching the blog and combining all the things we do in our other social media places with this site. Thanks, L&M

One of our most favourite things to do is custom work for kids things. We occasionally have parents approach us and ask if we could make them something we made for Z or V. We've made:
1. Blankets 2. Hooded towels 3. Capes (superhero style) 4. Reclaimed cloth pants and tights And a whole lot more! It has been a long while since I have added information on the site. First off, We've been working tirelessly, trying to build our inventory but we aren't doing the same thing as we did. Sure, we still have the kids kimonos and the sock monkeys (we are not making more) we are going to be moving away from the women's jewelry. There is just too much competition. Everyone can make the stuff. We are making necklaces for kids, though. And necklaces made from t-shirts. I really have to post some photos. We shall see if I can get around to doing it. Actually maybe... I can through the power of Apple's iCloud... lets see. So, there are 2 shots of what we have been doing. More to come.
It is the summer and you'd think that being teachers we would have more time to work on the business... we are expanding into other areas, particularly rental property. I know. It's sounds like a big leap but unknown to you and most of the readers, we've always had a rental unit. What we have done different is that we are posting on Airbnb.com. We are also thinking of creating an app or two and a social networking thingy... when we get there we will announce what it might be. Just not right now. We are still going to be making things but decorating an apt is a
I AM GOING TO SELL 5 sets of LEGO CUFFLINKS THIS WEEK! (Sorry for all caps... yes I am yelling). Through social media!
Well, it's been a while and I am finally off from work for the summer. Looking forward to spending time with my family and working on the site. In the last 10 months I've been working on trying to increase the number of hits my site is getting. There are days that it reaches 200 hits but still no sales. I get more reaction on www.bricklink.com than here. My twitter account following has increased to 1000 or more and it's great communicating with a variety of people but still no sales. I've used 100milefinds.com and they were good but still not enough sales to merit an expense for using someone else's site. I get the most sales through craft shows and people who meet me and come back for more items. The returning customers are the ones making the sales. More later.
We have been absent from the business for a little while (at least online) We been making things but have been keeping a lid on announcements. We've made dresses, bags, cufflinks, and a ton of other stuff but, balancing between craft and kids...the internet gets neglected. Rightfully So! We are currently experimenting with just selling
Wishing all of our followers and customers a Happy New Year. May everyone reach their goals in 2012.
So, as you can see we've changed our colours. I think that we need some changes. After this past season we really need to rethink where we are going to go. I know that I get limited feedback from readers... which I wish was different. We will definitely come up with some great Ideas.
Lulu and I have been contemplating ways to get people to the site. I was working on Twitter and some other social network sites to drum up some interest... there was a little... Never enough. The other source were the shows we were doing. So, it turns out, we in fact, do get people coming to our site after seeing us at the various shows but the social networking may not benefit us enough to see a profit from all the effort. So, here is the next experiment.
Anyhow who comes to this site and reads my blogs and give just one piece of feedback will be entered in to a mini Contest where someone can win a pair of Red Lego Stud Earrings (I'd pierce my ear just so that I could wear them... they are that cool.). I am hoping that I will get 100 people leaving some comments or feedback (constructive) in the next 24 hrs. We shall see... |
